I know it's hard to imagine wearing a jacket and knee-high boots when you're sitting by the pool in 90+ degree weather, which is why I did the work for you.

I recently picked up some really great pieces from Windsor that will pair great with dresses and open-toed in the summer and just as beautifully with leggings, jeans, and joggers in the fall. I purposely snagged pieces that mix and match with each other and with items that like me, you probably already have in your closet.

 90’s Fashion:
Unless you’ve been hiding out somewhere, you’ve noticed that 90s fashion is back in full force and I’m not mad about it!  Not to age me, but I was a teenager in the 90s so it’s been an absolute blast styling my client’s with some of the pieces that wore walking the halls of my high school.
The Slip Dress:
The slip dress was a 90s staple and has quickly become a 2020 closet essential. I picked up this (linked) more fitted version that includes a front slit and bra top detailing making it the perfect candidate for a date night outfit and enough of a statement to wear all by itself. I paired it with heels for a dressier feel, but it would look adorable paired with white sneakers and a belt bag for a more casual look.

If you prefer to add layers to a more fitted silhouette, this kimono is the perfect lightweight option to pair over this or any other slip dress for a more conservative look. As you can see by the photos below, you can style a kimono several different ways.

You can style your kimono like a jacket and loosely tie it closed.

Or have a little fun styling your kimono by tying it up

Kimonos:
Kimonos are another closet must-have for 2020 and not only can they be worn several different ways, but they’re the perfect wardrobe addition and layering piece to transition you into cooler weather. I loved the white floral option so much, that I picked up this darker black version pictured below. Pairing it with distressed cutoffs or jeans adds a soft and feminine touch and I love that throwing it over this cropped cami with a pair of booties takes this outfit from summer and transitions it to a perfect option for fall. The stylist in me was thinking “music festival” when I styled this outfit so it works perfectly that I have music festival tickets in September.

You Can Layer A Kimono Over Any Cami And Tie It Up.

Or you Can Wear It Layered Like A Jacket or Cardi.

Cropped Cami:
 Another 90’s fashion revival and a 2020 summer favorite is the cropped cami. This can be a hard one and has been a point of contention with many of my styling clients for one main reason. The word “cropped” means that you’re showing your tummy and there are a lot of women that aren’t comfortable with it. As a stylist, I’m here to say that it’s 100% okay if showing your stomach isn’t your style.

Here’s the great news… Just because something says cropped, doesn’t mean that it has to be. Check out my top tips for how to wear the “cropped” style and bypass showing your belly.

Style tip: If you love the overall look of a cropped cami or top, but you loathe the idea of showing your stomach, sizing up 1 or even 2 sizes and pairing it with high waisted bottoms are the best ways to prevent you from showing any skin. It works like a charm… I promise

Details, Details, Details:
 I truly believe that style is all about the details, so if you love the cropped cami look but a solid color cami is a little boring to you, try this floral cami. The floral print is perfect for summer by itself or as a layering piece for fall, and the buckle corset detailing takes it to the next level bringing on the WOW factor. I love it paired with distressed Levi’s and a belt bag for an adorable day time summer look, and I switched to silk joggers for a look that again, will transition you to fall.

Pair a fun accessory, like a belt bag, with your cami and cut off shorts for a fun Summer look.

Pair a cami with a faux leather skirt for a great date night look.


Pairing a cami with joggers will easily transition it from Summer to Fall.

Bodysuits:

 A detailed bodysuit is another great option for the summer and the detailing on this white lace bodysuit is stunning! I paired it with distressed white jeans for a clean and crisp look, but if the monochromatic look isn’t your thing, adding this beautiful snakeskin kimono breaks up the all-white monochromatic look for a softer more feminine style. I recommend double-sided sticky tape to error on the side of caution with the deep V bodysuit. Nobody wants a Janet Jackson super bowl moment, so better safe than sorry

Style Tip: Be sure to pair a solid color under a kimono as not to take away from the kimono’s design or coloring.

 Jumpsuits:
 Jumpsuits are another comeback kid in 2020 and if you’re looking for a “turn every head in the room” fashion moment, this look is perfection. From the front tie keyhole to the leg slit detailing, it oozes style from top to bottom. Not to mention, the golden/yellow color looks so pretty worn over a tan. I paired it with my favorite mix no 6 heels, seen here on DSW. That wraps it up for my Mid-Summer (pre-fall) haul with Windsor. Hopefully, it gave you babes some fashion inspiration and ideas for the remainder of the summer into fall transition. I’ll close by saying this…
